Scottish axe girl

This story has been doing the rounds in the UK, likening one of the girls to an axe-wielding warrior queen, and I'd like to ask someone to give me a description of the original clip, blow by blow, as it were, in as much detail as you like. I've listened to it enough times and just about worked out what they're saying.

Incidentally, the two sisters in the clip were reported missing a month ago. There's a lot more to this story, which I've been following quite closely, and predictably, the police already seem to have made their minds up about who the guilty party is. If that sounds all too familiar, then it should do.

There's been a lot about it on twitter. The plot gets thicker and thicker. I took it with a grain of salt because there was no context given and it could just as easily have been the girl who was the aggressor, so I reserved judgement. Apparently, however, the man filming her has turned out to be a creep. He's posted a lot of sleazy videos on his social media, calling women 'whores'.

If I describe what it looks like I don't think it will give you a clearer idea of what happened. Your view of it is almost identical to mine. I really don't have a clue what was going on there.

Also, the girl doesn't have a Scottish accent. She sounds Northern Irish. Maybe a traveller?

Yes, he has described himself as a gangster, apparently. According to some accounts, he and his wife and/or sister (accounts differ) were hitting the girls. And what was he doing filming them, anyway?

It's a Dundee accent, where the incident took place, as far as I can tell from that brief clip. At one point one of the girls calls the man filming them a "kid basher" or words to that effect.

I don't hear a Scottish accent. It's a bit brief though. I agree that there's obviously more to it than what's seen and heard in the video.

It's difficult to be sure, and it'll be very interesting to hear more about this. It's fascinating how the story has developed, and become something of a rallying point.

I've just found out that there's a fundraiser for the girls involved, which has already raised over £66,000. This is an extremely positive development and will no doubt help the family immensely. The girl with the axe, by the way, is Lola, aged 12, and her sister is Ruby, aged 13. Some incorrect information about ages and names were reported when the story first broke, but the following is correct. Mayah is their friend who phoned the police.

+++Justice for Lola and Ruby
While walking in their local community. Lola (12), Ruby (13) and Mayah (13) were accosted by two adult foreign nationals. The foreign nationals were directing inappropriate sexual remarks at Lola. When Lola and her sister told the migrants to leave them alone and go away Ruby was viciously attacked by the adult female, yanked to the ground by her hair and both migrants proceeded to kick Ruby in the head on the ground. Seeing her sister being beaten senselessly on the ground, Lola retrieved an axe and a knife and bravely scared off the attackers, saving her sister. This is when the foreign national decided to film the aftermath which went viral on social media. In the video you can hear Lola telling the attackers to go away and leave her sister alone. Ruby was hospitalized after the attack with a severe concussion a tennis ball sized lump to the back of her head as well as lots of bruises. Unfortunately rather than arrest the attackers, the local police decided to arrest Lola instead.

We set up this campaign because like millions of others who saw the video and have now heard Lola and Ruby's story, we were astonished at the incredible bravery from such a young child. She became the hero for a nation that for too long has seen their cries of help go unheard. Lola fearlessly stood on her own standing up to her sister's attackers and now she needs our help to stand up to the corrupt law establishment that would rather go after victims than hold foreign migrants accountable for their crimes.

This is the official GiveSendGo fundraiser for Lola and Ruby. Set up by the family, their mother Elaine Thomson and with assistance from Aesthetica.+++

There's none of that in the video. Perhaps the truth will eventually come out. The guy filming (if it's the same person) is a total arsehole, going by his Tik Tok videos.

What charges were brought against the young girl for getting attacked? If that's true, then England sounds like a bizarre country.

You aren't allowed to carry ANY kind of weapon or means of defence in the UK.

But adults are allowed to assault 13-year-old girls? Are the attackers being detained at all? If not, then there's something seriously wrong over there.

It's impossible to tell what's going on in the video.

Well, if a 13-year-old girl is in the hospital with serious wounds, then it looks like someone should be trying to get to the bottom of what happened, and that the other party would be closely monitored as well. There's either something seriously wrong with the story that's being told on behalf of the girls, or there's something seriously wrong with the authorities over there.

I don't have any facts. I've only seen the video. But yes, as far as I can tell the UK is fucked.

I've emailed one of the original reporters on the girls' disappearance a month ago to ask if the fundraiser page is genuine. This is turning out to be quite a rabbit hole.

Fishy rhymes with Vichy.
