That's cloudflare. The only way I found to avoid problems was to use a VPN but that comes with its own problems. Pistolero must have been using the same VPN service, so if my VPN is using a country that happens to be the one he was connected to when he was banned then I get a 'banned for life' message. Someone else was complaining about the same thing. I know that if I'm connected to Netherlands then I won't be able to access the site. Means I have to put up with weird Japanese adverts

Yes, I'm not sure what is currently going on with the "banned for life" thing. With the OP of this thread, after further discussion with him on email it became clear that we had banned various IP addresses close to his for spamming. He himself had not posted spam, but does use a VPN, and it may be that he is using the same VPN as some spammers.

I think Philosophy Now should be praised in attempting to cut off the entire country of New Zealand. It's a shame some of them have heard of VPN and can now apparently pop out pretending to be one of our beloved Japanese..
