by Michael J. Carter
I’m an independent writer and researcher based in Canada, with a background in comparative philosophy and cultural studies. Over the past decade, my interests have focused on the intersection of freedom, tradition, and modernity in non-Western intellectual landscapes — especially within the Middle East and Iran.

Though I was trained in Western philosophical traditions, I’ve always found it intellectually rewarding to explore how contemporary thinkers in other parts of the world grapple with universal questions: liberty, identity, justice, and the human condition. In recent years, I’ve been particularly drawn to the emergence of new philosophical frameworks in Iran, where the tension between ancient heritage and modern aspirations creates a uniquely fertile ground for original thought.

I write not as a specialist in Iranian studies, but as a curious observer who believes philosophy should not be confined by borders. My goal is to share insights that may otherwise go unnoticed — and to invite readers into the richness of philosophical conversations unfolding beyond the usual academic centers.
