What are we trying to achieve on this forum?

It seems to me that we are constantly attempting to have each other come around to our own Point Of View (POV) upon our perspective of REALITY.
..and to be honest, rarely have I seen anyone admit to alternate their original position.
I have admitted to others when they have educated me of my shortcomings within my analysis of reality, my stored knowledge, my memory needed an update.
Alas, most "philosopher" types seem too proud to admit they were wrong, to acknowledge any level of respect to someone that taught them, convinced them, that their prior analysis was short of the mark.
So.
I digress, but when I was in a Roman Catholic School, as a wee nipper, I was rather perturbed by statements from this apparent GOD, that I should not be proud.
...and, now I understand why.
Any reasonable person on the forum SHOULD comprehend the reasoning as to Y this entity has insisted that we should not be proud - for, to be proud in the pursuit of knowledge is....?

There's no
we. There's you and me and him and her and on and on, and we all have our agendas. Even among those who seem to be aligned -- the America haters, for example, or those who opposed Big Mike and his mechanistic religion -- there's no actual teamwork or comradeship. We each step up on our soapboxes and
preach and
lecture.
It is what it is, and it ain't likely to change (and that, in my view, is a big plus).

I would admit I was wrong if I ever was wrong; Someday, perhaps, I may earn that honor. However, since half the people on this forum think it is evil to lie, even if you do so to protect Jews from the gestapo, I dare not state that I have been wrong, lest I doom myself to eternal perdition.
My goal in being here is to be so kind and generous to accelefine that she takes me off "ignore". I really miss being called a wokie and a wanker by that talented and awarded writer. The alliteration is brilliant!

I have a point of view. As far as I'm aware, everyone does.

Do you think that oneβs personal POV is required for an accurate understanding and presentation of another POV?
Also, do you think that if one doesnβt personally have the POV, then discussing it is limited to cross examination?
Philosophy β Personal POV = Objective understanding

No, one's personal POV could be irrational to start with, ergo, would be shite at presenting another's POV.
Walker wrote:Also, do you think that if one doesnβt personally have the POV, then discussing it is limited to cross examination?
If you are asking whether our irrational POV chap DOESN'T share the belief/perspective of the other's POV, would our fella (mr irrational) be biased and not worth "cross examination"...
Of course.

Not ALL of 'us'. But that a lot of you are, is VERY OBVIOUS.

As 'I' keep informing 'you' people, here, while you have a belief you will NOT 'alternate'.

Why do ANY of you 'store' knowledge as though it is true and/or right, before irrefutable proof or facts have been obtained?

If you people just did NOT express NOR claim ANY thing, until you had the irrefutable facts or proof, then you would NOT have been 'wrong', in the beginning, and thus would not need to end up having TO CHANGE.

Well considering the Fact that if one does ANY thing, which aligns with what is just Right and/or good, in Life, then MOST CERTAINLY there is NOTHING AT ALL to be 'proud' of, NOR about.
And, if ANY one just does any thing, which might well seem 'remarkable', or 'the best', then just remember most likely someone else is going to something else 'more remarkable' or 'better', or, do the 'same thing' 'better' or 'more remarkable' anyway.
Really, is there ANY thing, in Life, that one does, or could do, where one 'deserves to be proud'?
If yes, then what is 'that', EXACTLY?

Why did you write a statement, but with a question mark at the end, here?
