Progress to the Past
It is quite clear that our world today has progressed backwards to the 1930s, in ethical-political terms. Except that now we have the technology of annihialtion and also ultimate subjection to authoritarianism. We have two ideologies that are in fact in logical oppostion to democracy. Egotistic imperial authoritarianism and nationalism, and secondly egotistic globalised individualism. Democracy stands opposed to both of these, with the individual centred in diverse nations, that maintain their cultural identities, and which cooperate with each other for mutual survival. There is also a perverse tendency to look at ethical-political values in extremist isolation, rather than holistically in balance with each other. Democracy is a combination of freedom and responsibility and set in opposition to the egotistic end-values.

There is actually only one standard for human evolution. That is information processing, on an individual basis which requires intelligence. As some have noted correctly, technology which replaces a person's learning with their whole body, means there is a decline in intelligence.
Correctly developed technology aids man, not replaces man.

Look at the younger generation today, they have not even learn manners.

1930s?

We have gone back to the human primal and primordial days of >200,000 years ago with 'tribalism' [Us vs Them, Ingroup vs Outgroup] dominating 'reason, rationality, good morality' within the everyday scene at present.
GoogleSearchAI wrote:Tribalism, as a human social phenomenon, is believed to have existed since the earliest humans, with roots in the development of small, cohesive groups for survival and cooperation.

Here's a more detailed look at the origins of tribalism:
Early Human Social Structures:
The concept of "tribes" or small, interconnected groups likely emerged as early humans needed to cooperate for hunting, gathering, and protection from predators.

Survival and Cooperation:
These early social structures fostered a sense of belonging and shared identity, which was crucial for survival and resource management.

Brain's Response to Threats:
Some scientists suggest that tribalism might be related to how our brains respond to perceived threats, potentially leading to increased feelings of fear and aggression towards those outside our group.

Modern Relevance:
While the concept of tribalism has ancient roots, it continues to be relevant in modern society, with its influence seen in political ideologies, social movements, and even online communities.

An inherent human tendency is pattern recognition and by extension, organizing skills. Because of this and because of technology’s effect on communication, words have become more significant than action. Words more than actions are the modern form of social virtue signaling. “Do you believe in climate change,” cuts to the chase of social tribal affiliations with believers claiming virtue, despite the factual vagueness of the question.
