If you go up to their website, you will notice, right away, a sign asking for donations.
But, do they provide a link to any definition of what literacy is? I have not found one. They only mention, in context, reading and writing.
They use catch phrases, like raising awareness. etc. helping children, etc., etc., but no objective proof of anything other than doing the shuffle dance with people.
I take them to be just another Corporate Scam organization.
Plato wrote that one must first define their terms. And most places I hear this as a catch phrase were obviously too stupid to know that it refers to the establishment of a convention of names, the arithmetic one-to-one assignment of words to parsed perception. As Aristotle reiterated, the loss of any sense means a loos of knowledge. It is lost in two ways, a physical disability, or the non use of perception.
Plato explained, that when it comes to intelligibles, a number of examples are used and one must have enough intelligence to see a common example proved by all. The Bible, itself, is written that way. This is why it is often misunderstood because metaphor requires multiple examples by which you, only by intelligence, see the intelligible in them all. This is why, one can spot the human race as proto-linguistic, for, noun and verb, the two defining elements of every thing, is still not recognized. So, if you cannot use the entire of your perceptions to abstract the simple foundation of grammar, of literacy, you certainly cannot claim any ability with metaphor.
Without metaphorical ability, one cannot use both types of identity in grammar. and therefore, you cannot even become literate. Not everyone can be literate, however, you can write a standard grammar, even though few understand it. You cannot save everyone, but you can cut your losses.
