Had it with Farage!

Regular readers of my posts, both here and at ILP, will know that I've expressed support for Reform UK, and Nigel Farage. I voted for them at the general election last July, for example, and even, very briefly, considered joining them. I regard myself as a conservative, with a small c, though very much in the old "one nation" tradition, which no longer seems to exist, but in general, I'm not really very political, most of the time. There was much about Farage himself that I liked, but there were always a few nagging little doubts. I've always had far more time for another Reform MP, Rupert Lowe, who I believe I've mentioned before. The other day, apparently, he expressed some very mild and constructive criticism of Farage, and yesterday, Farage stabbed him in the back, calling in the police on him for alleged sexual misconduct and suspending him from the party, basically ending his career. But also, at the same time, destroying Reform UK, I think. Whatever the case, I can no longer support Farage or his party, and so I'm essentially politically homeless, since I would trust the Tories about as far as I could throw them. Oh well.

I'm pretty certain Farage is one of the least of them. As a supporter of Reform UK myself, I'd recommend letting time and better reporting take place.

Remember, MSM is constantly attempting to distort the truth to alternative political thoughts.

I admit no investigation thus far on my part, but will permit some time.

It's difficult, and in many ways, they're probably still the best option out of a very bad bunch, by a long way. One thing I can't abide, however, is betrayal. If he acts like this to those closest to him, what sort of prime minister would he make? I'm really not sure what to think at the moment.

Yes, I'm starting to see your point now. What's been done to Rupert Lowe and suggestions of dementia and belligerence, absolutely disgusting. Farage is not worthy to lead Reform.

I do enjoy The Podcast of the Lotus Eaters to keep me informed on UK and broader politics. I watched these two videos earlier today:

Yes, I sometimes listen to the Lotus Eaters.

The more I hear about this, the more disgusted I am. Farage has lost my vote, for sure.

He was always talking about how his use of the new tech - social media - to get his message out and avoid the MSM - to which, he and reform clearly did a good job. But this new form of media is now backfiring on him, he's being roasted by pretty much every Reform supporting channel on the net!

I think he's finished, basically. And so is Reform, unless it dumps him really quickly. The problem is, all its other MPs have also stuck the knife into Rupert, so I don't think anything can be salvaged.

Within..

Nigel Let the Reform Base Down - The Podcast of the Lotus Eaters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnZ7jsuK7ws&t=196s

..how's this for a salient point from the transcript?:

"Farage, put on on a pedestal and then betray the base, I mean there's two aspects to this isn't there one is all the individuals he's betrayed, that Farage has ended more right-wing careers than you know left-wing pressure groups and communists ever have."

You'll just buy into the next Farage lie anyway.

What a surprise, yet another right wing populist party staffed by chancers is tearing itself apart. How to see it coming when each of them is on their 9th political party after destroying the previous ones with their backbiting and greed?

Never mind, they'll form a new party next week and it will be a slightly different collection of skulduggerous gammons then, so that will surely make a difference.

I'm impressed, you didn't use the term "FAR" right.

Of course there is going to be ongoing internal destruction when the MSM is constantly distorting the members characters in their biased way - and of course, painting those of the left and extreme left (*Labour) as saintly.

Aren't you a self-confessed 'right wing populist' who moonlights as a wokie?

..ah yes that'd be awesome. Just think what he could achieve over the English Channel if he wasn't so left wing!
