Failing at Originality

What up, yo...

No, seriously. I know that there's no way what I'm thinking is fresh or new, it only seems that way because I've come into the world of philosophy on my own, without formal education and training. I sought to evaluate, as an atheist, where my sense of right and wrong actually comes from, and upon realizing that I had no rational basis for some of my moral precepts I was honest enough to reconsider and in some cases even shed them.

Where I stand now is frustration in trying to define certain aspects which I believe are essential to my worldview. This lack of definition is making it very difficult to express certain aspects of my personal "philosophy" as it were.

So here I come, in search of better ways to label concepts than those which popularly come to mind... I only hope that you all are as patient as you seem from what I've read so far. :)

Thanks,
LP

Hi Lady,

Welcome to the forum. Are you from Phoenix, AZ? If so what do you think of the new immigration laws? I was in Phoenix a few months ago (I live in Vegas) and had been warned in advance about their cameras on the streets that take a pic of you speeding and then send a ticket to your home. I almost forgot a couple of times...even though you can't miss them. They are an ugly reminder of big brother.
