First cousin marriages

There are discussions in the UK currently concerning first cousin marriages, with calls to have it outlawed because of the high risk of birth defects like extreme stupidity, misogyny and ugliness. Apparently some groups have the incidence of first cousin marriages as high as 70 percent.
The irony is of course obvious, when inbreeding has been a way of life for the British royal family for centuries. They didn't want to be mixing their 'blue blood' with the scoundrels and vagabonds of the lower classes. The result was horrible diseases like haemophilia, insanity, terminally low intelligence, hideous jawlines, and jug ears.
