ALERT: IN CASE RICK ELIMINATES THE FORUM...

_______
The writing on the wall seems to be suggesting that there is a possibility that Rick may no longer be able to offer us the PM Forum. See this recent post:
viewtopic.php?p=728871#p728871
If he does eliminate it, does anyone have any suggestions as to where the inmates of this nut house can reassemble (migrate to) in order to continue this online therapy session?
My vote would be the
"I love Philosophy" site (
ILP)...
https://www.ilovephilosophy.com/
...for It seems to have a pretty good posting format.
What do the rest of you folks suggest?

I won’t care if this forum goes away and doesn’t come back. I’ll just move over to the ILP site.
I’ve practically said all I need to say here anyway. My work is done here, so to speak.
According to the Bible, Jesus's last words on the cross were "It is finished," which in the original Greek is "tetelestai," signifying that his work of redemption was complete and there was nothing more left to do.
However, I’ll show up somewhere else if this place disappears. Nowhere is everywhere anyway. There is nowhere I cannot be. I am everywhere. I will continue to spread the good news else where.

We're different I guess, ILP's posting format makes me want to jump off a building.

The ILP tzar Carleas is a good kid. Smart as fuck, too. I try to avoid arguing with em becuz he loves arguing too much, and he's damn good at it. So be warned.

I agree. It's awful and unnecessarily complicated and disconnected.

I wonder why ILP isn't having the same problems. Could it be a targeted attack? Perhaps some disgruntled banned user who doubles as a master hacker?

So, what are some good alternative sites?
"The Philosophy Forum" evidently only accepts
"invited" new members.
And
"Online Philosophy Club," which is presided over by
"Eckhart Aurelius Hughes" (formerly known as "Scott"

), is absolutely flooded with advertisement banners (even between posts).
I'm still waiting for some alternative suggestions that will be better than ILP.

Well this site is unique so yes, it will be quite a loss to the internet. I couldn't get my head around ILP, but I suppose everything takes getting used to. I have no idea how strict the moderating is on there either, although the general 'feel' of the site did come across as rather 'subdued'. I also noticed that sculptor seems to be banned from that one too

How about this...
The PN Forum folds in the either/or world. This prompts Carleas to do all he can to entice Faust and Only_Humean to come back as moderators.
Okay, Uccisore too.
Then -- click -- they do come back. ILP flourishes once again. They sack the Kids, the Yak Yak Yakkers, The Corner, the "my way or the highway" thugs and bullies.
Maybe even the...pedants?

That's not the ILP Faust, Imp. That's Robert De Niro doing an impression of some old guy named Faust. Look closely at the picture.

If we did that, Biggs, the whole goddamn forum would be fractured and fragmented. We need people who... well I'll just say it: we need objectivists with intellectual contraptions.

I agree, the ILP format looks pretty, but isn't much cop for clear debating\discussion.
I started this forum earlier in the year and have done nothing with it:
www.ozgovwatch.com.au
The Oz emblem (coat of arms) is genius IMO. I never bothered promoting it etc..it was a daft idea (sometimes I have those)
(*.com.au domains cost a lot to register, *.com are cheap as chips...and an ABN is required - so I dumped some money down the swanny as usual)
As you can see, it's the same basic PHPbb as this site.
My point being, that if this site does disappear I am happy to setup a PHPbb similar to this site, with similar TOPIC areas
- I'd like to improve it though, such as giving thread creators the ability to nominate one or two people that cannot post within it (Age comes to mind)
- 1 to 1 discussion areas where nobody else can get involved.
- I'd be open to other ideas..
I'm revamping totally redesigning
www.androcies.com - if this forum does go down and no matter how much you may despise me,
IF you want a similar forum set up I will do it, you can use CONTACT on the new androcies.com site (none of the menus are working as yet - but I'll work on CONTACT as a priority - all contact will be confidential and email addresses stored securely)
Just typing
androcies into google comes up at the top of the list too..
PS. Any feedback re my new site design would be appreciated, I think there is far too much 'gumpf' on the opening page.

I don't think I will bother with that site Henry!
My point being that I will set up another forum (philosophy) similar to this one, thus everyone can use
www.androcies.com "CONTACT" to register interest - if there is enough interest then I will proceed to setup domain etc..
