Call it Karma, Divine Retribution or Call it Just Desserts

The Bush administration invaded Iraq pre-emptively on the assumptions that:

1) Iraq was creating Nuclear Weapons. [wrong]

2) That it is OK to pre-emptively invade other countries that have done nothing directly to us for reasons of "prevention". [wrong]

Now we're paying for it. Call it divine justice or whatever. But things have gotten more uncertain on the "Western" side of the planet. The Biden administration is doing its best to keep everything from unraveling into something even worse. Unfortunately, many on the right within the US seem to see Biden as a liability--as "weak". They want only victory and roses. They don't want to have to pay for the Bush administration's mistakes. If only we didn't have to. But justice demands reciprocity and like it or not, we have to take some lumps. That's the unfortunate truth. The best we can do is hope that no one gets seriously hurt at this point.

The above is perhaps the lense through which I perceive the world currently.

Is Trump a horrible candidate? I don't think so. However, he's very independent and doesn't seem to work well with other statesmen and officials. He's at core a businessman, not a statesman. He looks at the short term as do profiteers and wants only short term benefits to make his administration a success. But he's doing it through the Republican Party and a problem is that the Republican Party got us on this path of reckless destruction. I think we Americans need to give the Democrats benefit of seeing a larger picture.
