philosophical quest and modernity

Even a cursory look at modern history,
tells us the modern quest has been for certainty......
socially, politically, economically, philosophically and historically.....
for example, the quest, political in seeking out certainty has
been reflected in the modern need for dictatorships... the conservative
love for dictators like Putin and his mini me, IQ45, has dominated
conservative values for quite a while.... Hitler and Mussolini,
were right wing wet dreams.... the list of right wing dictators
today also fits into that wet dream territory ....
for example, Iran has Ali Khamenei, China Xi Jinping, North Korea
Kim Jong-un, Turkey Recep Erdogan, and these are some examples... many
others could have been named...the quest for a dictator is the
quest for certainity.....
the real question today is how we find and keep certainty in our lives....
even Philosophy engages in this game of seeking certainty....
and in Science, the search for the ''Theory of Everything'' or TOE
is just another quest for certainty....
but as I have already noted, it is the lack of certainty that drives
our modern world....as we slowly come to terms with one of the
real drivers of our modern life... which is chance, probability,
randomness....... our lives, our actions, our beliefs, our hopes can
be, at any time, interrupted by chance, random events.....
dozens of Americans were killed in the last several hours by violent
storms... how does one plan for that? there is no rhyme or reason as
to where a tornado lands..... in a large fire, which houses get
burned down and which don't.....
our lives are not dictated by mathematical certainty but by
unpredictable events, acts, or the randomness of people.....
the event that has dominated my life, my being born with a severe
hearing loss, was totally random... random events caused by other people...
and my event is matched by millions of random events that
happen every single day in our lives, both individually and collectively.....
it is not certainty that we must come to grips with, but uncertainty,
chance, randomness, probability...... life itself is a random event,
as is clearly shown by evolution in which probability is one
of the main drivers of human evolution....
the question of god is not how he dictates the events of existence,
but how he is impacted by the random and chaotic nature of
the universe...... if, if god dictated everything, then we have
a god that is random, full of probability and chance....
Once seen, we cannot unsee the reality of nature being random and
full of probability... our lives is dictated by chance, not planned
events...
so, the question becomes, do we fight the random nature of the universe/
reality and continue to seek out certainty, or, or do we accept the
nature of reality/the universe of chance and randomness and act
accordingly, stop seeking out certainty.....
my answer should be clear..... let us accept and work with chance
and randomness...... bake randomness and chance into our every
action and plan..... that events, people, plans, ideas all will go
sideways, we know this in advance and accept it when it happens....
and can we plan on randomness and chance every single time?
no, that is the very problem with probability/chance..... it only
happens occasionally..... randomly..... and cannot be planned for.....
so, we begin by accepting that certainty is not possible in our modern world....
and the only ''truth'' we can know is that every single act, event, person
and idea can be and will be impacted by randomness and chance......
we just can't know the who, what, when, where, why and how of
randomness......it is, random......
