I am a physician too, and I totally agree with you. But empathy is not something that can be taught, like some Buddhist masters think. Either you have it, or you don't. Articles like yours cast a needed light on this topic. And I am proud of my family, where this basic "feeling" didn't even need to be taught. And I am in my sixties, and that's probably easier for me, having been less exposed to this digital era
