For some, philosophy seems to be a great marketing opportunity. But everything is "branding," right? Therefore, non-branding is a "brand".

Yes indeed. These two "new forum members" initially looked okay - it wasn't until long after they had joined the forum and had their first post approved that they then added a marketing URL to the "location" field of their profiles. It's interesting that the same links to a small number of online games account for quite a large proportion of these ingenious spambot signups. I assume that this is because (a) the games are utter dross and therefore require constant marketing effort to keep them afloat or (b) the games are actually just delivery mechanisms for malware. In either case, anyone clicking a link for "the snake game" or "baseball bros game" is probably asking for a dismal experience.

I've deleted the two spambots who appeared in this thread.

As Neil Young said, "rust never sleeps," and neither do the corrupt on the Internet. Humanity is going to destroy itself if it can help it.
