an philosophical experiment...

are the days long or short?
yes...
when young, the days are long
and when old, the days are short...
and this is a truism of life...
that what we experience comes from where we stand...
when I was young, life was different..
and when, as now, I am old, life is different still...
and that is what I call a situational life...
and is similar to situational ethics...
where the situation dictates the ethics..
where the life situation dictates how we experience life...
and today, I experience life as an old man....
which means I move slowly and take my time,
unlike my youth, where I ran around like a crazy person....
I was trying to experience everything, as a young person does...
the search was for something new, something that engaged me....
I was trying to experience everything, all at once...
today, I don't experience experience's like I once did...
my world, my world is shrinking.. to what is familiar
and known...for that is what old people do...
today, I was looking at the new releases coming out in music,
and I didn't recognize a single name...even in my favorite areas,
classical and Jazz... I am aware of who Billie Eilish is, but
couldn't name a song of hers to save my life...
same as Beyonce, couldn't name a song of hers...
what I have left to experience is old age and then death...
and not much else left to experience... and what does
any of this mean to you? not a thing.. nothing at all.....
and so, I impart no wisdom.. give no choices, offer up no solutions...
and this is philosophy... of an old man... which means that it is
situational philosophy... the situation dictates the philosophy...
