What is the most worthwhile use of time?

You keep participating here, so it seems it is worth something to you. I can't prove that it's worth something in general, but your actions seem to indicate it is worth something to you, so far at least.

I have excellent news, if it is worth asking the question, then that proposition can only be false. The question s after all of a philosophical nature, and to answer it adequately (or to understand a good answer) one would obviously need to employ the greatest of all minds ... by which I mean Vistula Aqualung himself.

Step 3: Apply scores to all the [step2] activites by asking the [step1] experts what they think of those activites.
Conclusion: You now have scaled the highest pinnacle in of philosophy, which is to mimic science, you've already done a great thing with your time!


Scoring is out of 100 and within the parameters of the now credible (because of step1 - experts) Worthwhile-Activities-FSK/FSR we can allow a +/- 5% margin of error, making our maths official, credible and therefore true factual measurement. If the experts assess masturbating oneself at 43 worthwhiles out of a possible 100, but masturbating a random horse you saw in a field at only 12 worths, we now know that randomly masturbating animals is not an excellent way to use up your finite Earthly minutes package when compared to normal wanking.

Finally, now that you have mastered the Worthwhile-Activities-FSK/FSR, the experts must weigh in on the worth of creating it. It almost goes without saying that this activity was time better spent than what you did to that horse. Almost. Like, probably it amounts to more than 12 worths.

The very act of philosophizing requires brain activity. And the result of brain activity is stimulating and is necessary as well to survive and to conduct one’s life and daily activities. Even if there are no absolute answers to the questions posed by philosophy, it is the questions themselves that make life interesting.

It depends on what you use it for.
If you use it to prove you're right... and/or to settle on fixed answers... it's working for the ego.
If you use it to question what is 'known'... as an open-ended exploration... there will always be more to discover.
Discovery is a great use of time and energy!

If the world were actually a place that was hospitable to humans or else cared an iota about us, then philosophy might amount to something. I have yet to see evidence of any of that.
