Are you ethically obligated to stay alive if you're a better person than the average one who would probably exist in your place?

Stay alive as opposed to what? Commit suicide? If that's your alternative, then most would agree that suicide violates most community based ethical standards.

There IS NO 'person' who is 'better' than "another one" EVER, anyway.
