our day to day lives....

we spend our day to day lives, seeking out our "needs"..
be it food or water, shelter and health care, our biological needs,
and we also spend our days seeking out our psychological needs of
love, esteem, safety/security, a sense of belonging...
but do we even spend a minute of our day working out
what our soul needs or wants? or said another way,
instead of feeding our needs, we should ask the primary
question of existence, which is, why?
the why question should include why do we simply accept our current
economic and political and social system when it seems to have failed
us in achieving what we both need and want from those systems...
we fail to ask, are we really happy in our current pursuit of
the capitalistic system goal of getting wealth, material possessions,
power, greed, fame... or are we simply ''eating" the junk food
of needs and wants? what would ''eating'' healthy look like..
instead of pursuing values that damage or harm our bodies and soul
with crap values like fame or money, what would ''eating'' healthy
values look like? what does ''nutritional'' values look like?
capitalism engages with negative values, sins the bible calls them...
the sins of greed, sloth, gluttony, lust, pride, wrath, envy...
values that damages the soul when they are pursued...
how does the pursuit of lust, as an example, help us become
better people, a more "moral" people? and that is the problem with
these "sins" the pursuit of capitalism fails to and is completely
unable to lead us to being moral...
but in our day to day lives, ''becoming moral'' has no value in
our lives... in fact, given the dominant position of the
ism of capitalism, the values that make us a better person
aren't even listed as possibilities within capitalism....
the point of capitalism is to seek, pursue the sins of the bible,
envy, lust, greed, are values worth seeking in capitalism...
and that pursuit damages our soul, our value as people....
to become a ''moral'' ''ethical'' person isn't even
a possibility within capitalism... for those values, hinder our
ability to get what is the point of capitalism.. which is money,
fame, power, material possessions......
for if one has a moral/ethical value, it would begin by denying
what is important within capitalism.. which is the values of
greed, envy, lust, gluttony and so on...
so what is needed and virtually impossible to do, is the ability
to step away from our day to day lives and see what is really
the goal or purpose of existence... not to seek out the basic
necessities of life, but to ask, the more important question,
what is the point of, the purpose of existence?
is the point of existence, the purpose of existence really
the values of greed, lust, envy, pride, wrath, gluttony and sloth?
or perhaps, perhaps we should be rethinking the values we
should be pursuing.... what the values of existence
and what we should be pursuing in life, instead of our needs and wants?
I have laid out, in great detail the positive values of existence....
the values of justice and love and hope and kindness, charity..
to name a few values we should be pursuing, not the values of
capitalism... but values that allow us to lead ethical, moral lives...
the point of existence is to lead ethical, moral lives even if we
don't, can't believe in a divinity.. in other words, we lead
ethical, moral lives even if there is no god...
but Kropotkin, in a no-god universe, everything is permitted..
no, not at all... morality, ethics doesn't change in a no-god
universe... we still don't do violence to others, we still don't
practice values that damage our soul, like envy, lust, pride,
gluttony, the sins of the bible are sins because they damage
the soul... allowing us to follow the animal instincts..
instead of following human values...
ok, Kropotkin, what am I to do, to follow your path?
the simply way to begin is to acknowledge the fact that
following capitalism damages our soul as well as our bodies...
the first step is always this.. admitting that there is a problem..
and what solutions can we find to solve this problem? the first
step is always about admitting to a problem.. which is something
we haven't done yet... in our modern day world, the problem is
capitalism.. (at least one of the problems, but getting to this point is
huge) and in any recovery program, the first step is to admit
to the problem...
