can one ponder about a lake or does that necessarily get too deep?

the questioner will need to clarify something before we can answer becuz there's some semantic ambiguity going on.

does the questioner mean by the phrase 'ponder about a lake', moving on and across a lake on a boat or raft while thinking about something... or does he mean: think about a lake but not while moving on and across a lake while doing so, necessarily?

Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus is not out of the question, but flippers may make one pine of dolphins...
