first we need an operating definition of woke..

WOKE: to become aware of, to be conscious of,
to be alert to prejudices/ discrimination toward something
or someone... to be woke is to be open-minded and aware
of what is happening...

so, what does DeSantis want when he attacks woke?

he wants people to be unaware of, unconscious of, not alert to,
to be close minded and asleep....

now, this in practice means anything that wakes us up, or
makes us aware of something is woke... and in practice,
that means anything that awakes us.. thus
he means education and by the way, he also means
theology.,. anything that wakes us up is woke,
and reading the bible awakes us to the possibilities,
becoming aware of god.. that is the definition of woke...
becoming aware... so studying the bible is as much being woke
as studying history books and studying biology and science as
a whole...

any attempt to become aware of is woke, and thus is denied...
thus any reading is woke, and so is watching TV and reading the
daily newspaper... to become aware of, that is the definition of woke
and anything that allows us to become aware is woke...
thus we must not only lose our libraries, TV, the bible,
science, history, economics, and politics...
for all of that is, by definition, woke....
or becoming aware of.. so gone is the modern world...replaced
by, what, I have no idea because the defenders of woke have no
idea of the implications of their crusade... becoming aware is bad
and thus anything that allows us to become aware is bad...
and that is basically everything...

Woke was a term internal to the African American community that has been appropriated by a mainly white non-poor part of the population. It meant one was aware of places, as an African-American, one should not go, where it was dangerous, what counties, towns, bars, supermarkets, whatever were best avoided. You were woke if you were informed about problem places and people.

Not in practice. In practice that is not what people are now or earlier using the term to mean.

LOL, yeah, that's what they mean. They couldn't possibly disagree with people about a wide range of issues connected to what is and what is not discrimination, or what is or is not the right way to raise children, or what should be brought up in school, or a range of issues related to issues most people think of when the term woke is involved.

Okay, here 'we' now have what might appear to be a so-called 'operating definition' of the 'woke' word, however, just because one might be conscious or aware to prejudices/discrimination, this does NOT necessarily mean that 'that one' is aware, nor conscious, of ANY 'thing' else that is happening.

So, is 'to be woke' in relation to being conscious or aware of prejudices/discrimination ONLY, or to being conscious or aware of 'what is happening', which would imply EVERY 'thing'?

For a Truly 'operating definition', then 'that definition' has to be ABLE TO 'work' FULLY and SUCCESSFULLY.

Therefore, we now WAIT for 'you' to PROVIDE a Truly 'operating definition' for the 'woke' word here.

Are 'you' even AWARE, or 'WOKE', to the Fact that EVERY person can USE ANY word in a DIFFERENT WAY than 'you' DO.

Which MEANS 'TRYING TO' 'argue' FOR or AGAINST "another's" USE of a word is just UTTERLY USELESS.

Obtain and gaining 'operating definitions', ONLY WORKS WHEN and IF the "others" IN THE DISCUSSION are IN AGREEMENT and ACCEPTANCE of the 'definition/s'.
