How do we memorize things?

The information is stored within the links between neurons. Each link has a weight that can be adjusted upon exposure to a new subject. The process of memorizing is nothing but adjusting the weight of links.

There is an art to memorizing one can memorize by repetition/rote, this is a hard-won battle to an end. It is much easier to create a storyline linking the items to be remembered through associations, making the items sometimes exaggerated or fantastic to standout in memory. There may be other means I am not familiar with, but memorizing through the use of associations is most useful.

That's a scientific question.
There are thousands of academic papers (4413 is the number we get from a popular online data base) explaining how different types of memory are stored in a biological brain.
