Ok, now we hit the third part of my trilogy...
The Romantic era and its impact on modern philosophy...
As defined by Wiki, Romanticism was an Artistic, literary,
musical and intellectual movement that originated in Europe
roughly around 1780.. the German Goethe created the first examples
of "Sturm und Drang" or in English, "Storm and Stress" which were
the first examples of the Romantic era... for the ''Storm and Stress"
crowd, it was opposed to the rational logic of the ''Enlightenment"
period.. just as conservatives today, like IQ45 and the MAGA crowd
denounces the ''Enlightenment"
The "Sturm und Drang" crowd believes in the value of emotionalism,
and feelings of human beings...and those feelings are
at the heart of the "Romantics" which is the heart of
the conservative movement.. the conservative values individualism,
feelings, the subjective, no objective or outside values have no
need to appeal to any outside source, or authority... it was enough
that one felt it, to make it real and right.. as IQ45 often says,
he is right because it "feels right in his stomach" and that is enough
for him and other MAGA/GOP types...he needs no other justification or
validation from any other outside source if it "feels right in his stomach"....
and that is why for conservatives and MAGA types, they have no need for
science and rationality and medicine... it cannot replace or fill the place of
''it feels right in his stomach''
The Romantic denies science, facts, logic, rationality, or evidence,
because it ''might'' deny the ''feelings' of that person...thus it is easy
for a MAGA/Conservative to deny science or reason...
and demand the primacy of inspiration, subjectivity and the individual...
which is a denial of logic/reason, objectivity, and the collective...
the one, me, before all, the collective, is the motto of the conservative,
the MAGA crowd...
and we see this as the conservative puts the individual before the group,
the society, and the state... thus we see the conservative preach for no masks,
limited government, and the reason for its attack on liberal values that are for
the group, the collective, the many, the state...
we can clearly see that the battle between the ''Enlightenment'' and the "Romantic"
has been the battle being fought since 1850.. thus we can hold to the history of
the 20th century as being a war fought between reason/logic and feelings/emotions...
between the ''Enlightenment values" and the "Romanticism values"..
because the Nazi's held to Romanticism and not to the 'Enlightenment,
we can see why the Holocaust happened and because the conservatives
hold to Romanticism and not to ''Enlightenment" values, we can
see how conservatives can hold to their anti-life, anti-American
and anti-democratic values that they have espoused for decades.....
