the primary activity of human beings....

In thinking about it, what is the primary activity of human beings?
We do engage in our pursuit of our needs, bodily, psychologically,
emotionally, mentally and spiritually.... but that isn't what we really
spend our days and night doing...what we do has different names,
we study history and philosophy and science and biology and we
engage in economic and religions... but what do all these
"Separate" isms and activities have in common?
Each of these activities, each of these disciplines have something
in common..... they are attempts to explain the world, to understand
the world, to explain the meaning and purpose of human existence..
we spend our time, our days and nights, trying to understand what
it means to be human....
if we look deep enough, we can see something of the human condition
in every action and belief, we do and hold... for example, let us take
football as an example.. football is a game we played as kids and some
of us continue to play as adults.. for many of us, we still watch football
as adults... but if you look into it, you must ask yourself why?
why do we watch football even as an adult?
The answer is that we human beings are, as part of the human condition,
engage in play...... we playact, we watch plays, we watch children's games
like football and Baseball and we play cards and play video games and we
play games like Chess and monopoly... one working definition of being
human is "a creature that plays"..... to play is to be human....
So what else is part of the human condition?
we attempt through study, reading, writing to make sense of this
creature we call human...and the world we live in... and science
and history and economics and biology and philosophy are just a means
to explain what it means to be human.....ism's and ideologies are just
another means to explain and understand ourselves and the world we
live in... Capitalism is just a theory about what it means
to be human and it is an explanation of human beings and the world
we live in.....capitalism and communism and monarchies are explanations
about what it means to be human and the world around us...capitalism is
just an explanation of the human condition...
and that is what us human beings do... we attempt to explain
the world around us and the human condition through such
explanations as capitalism and communism and democracies...
and within history and biology and philosophy and economics...
our primary activity as human beings is to explain and understand
what is the human condition and how we explore the human condition
through such activities as our study of history, biology, science, philosophy..etc, etc...
our primary activity is seeking an explanation of what it means to be human...
and then the interesting part, what will we do when we have discovered, explained
what the human condition means and what are our possibilities as human beings?
in other words, we are not at the end of the human research into what the human
condition is, no, we are just at the beginning of our journey into the human condition...
because what is the next step after, after we have finished with our exploration
of the human condition? What shall we do next?
