the creation of a narrative...

I have been watching the news since I was watching Walter Cronkite
telling Americans how many soldiers died this week in Vietnam...
And I was watching CNN the other day about the FBI legal search of
Mar-a-Lago... and this is almost exactly what they did..
Wolf would say, FBI agents did a legal search of IQ45 home and
recovered a dozen top secret documents... and then, he
would say, let us discuss this with our panel, and they are
James Clapper, former intelligence chief and (he would name
several others) and the panel would discuss the matter..
and Wolf would ask, how does this news, impact the upcoming
2022 election or the 2024 election?
Now note, that at every step, it would get further and further away
from the actual event.. but what it would do is an attempt to create
a narrative about the event... because it is CNN, they will have at least
one Republican on the panel.. and that Republican would attempt to
spin the news as being bad for democrats in 2022 because of...
the point is no longer about the actual event but the spin about that event,
the narrative about that event.. How do you feel about an ex-president
having top secret documents in his home? And at that point, it has nothing whatsoever
to do with the original event... how do you feel about it?
If we were to take away this idea of narrative from news shows and actually
engaged in reporting the news, the newscast would last about 10 minutes..
the vast majority of news these days is about creating a narrative about that
news, not actually engaged in the news itself..
Biden just was able to pass a major legislative bill, but did you hear anything
about it? No, because of the inability to spin, create a narrative about that bill...
but IQ45 theft of highly classified secrets, that is news that can have
a narrative about it.. and the point is not the news, but the ability to
create a narrative about that news... if there is no way to create a narrative
about it, it doesn't get reported... recall, if a tree falls in a forest and no one
hears it, did that event actually happen? If an event happens and it doesn't get
reported, did it happen? for example, the war in Iraq/Afghanistan/Pakistan
from 2002 to 2019, over 7,000 American soldiers died.. and did anyone
report that? We had 19 years of war in that part of the world and did
anyone noticed how many Americans died? and why not? Because
of the narrative necessary to lay out that story... was there any reason in
the universe for soldiers to be there for 19 years? No, but to create
that narrative, one would have to bring in the military/industrial complex which
started the war and got very rich from that war... but how does one spin that
narrative? and therein lies the problem.. the lack of a narrative....
How does one spin that?
So, one might ask, how does the media choose it topics? The creation
of a narrative is one means...We want to bash Democrats, so we spin
this event this way... so we got in the media stories such as,
''Trump steals nuclear documents, Dems will get wiped out in 2022''
I saw this headline online... a headline like that isn't about the actual event
''Trumps has top secret documents'' but that headline is about the creation
of a narrative, not the actual news...and that is what counts, the narrative/story
and not the actual news...
