Physicists Just Measured The Heaviest Known Particle With Record-Breaking Precision
FIONA MACDONALD, 29 APRIL 2022
----
" . . ,physicists using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have now measured the heaviest
known elementary particle with an unprecedented amount of precision."

"But that doesn't mean the case is closed – this measurement could be just the start
of a deeper understanding of how our Universe works.
The elementary particle in question is called the top quark, and it's the most massive of all known
elementary particles, contributing to a fundamental part of our understanding of the Universe.

Importantly, it gets its mass from coupling with the elusive Higgs boson."

does the heaviest known particle actually weigh anything in zero gravity?

"Quarks" were invented to explain the structure of the "proton".
How many "quarks" do we know?
Quarks: up, down, charm, strange, top, bottom + antiquarks + tetraquark +
pentaquark + leptoquark + top quark.
And a more powerful LHC will give new chances to find the missing
particles for the Standard Model
