Equality Of Outcome

Ideologically, the Holy Grail of the Leftist thinking is the creation of an equality of outcome society, where each according to their ability [to be productive] is co-joined with those according to their needs. Imagine the naivety which must be employed to believe such a socio-political arrangement could exist, yet work!
What were they spiking the drinking water with in the 19th century? And two centuries hence [after epic slaughters in the name of the same ideas], there are [again] people who believe it's time we give these ideas another ride on the merry-go-round? It's truly taxing to come up with a similar instance of mass social insanity [although we must be assured that history is replete with them].
People who adhere to ideology must literally lose the ability to be rational. George Carlin makes a pretty good case for such when he talks about the greatest bullshit story ever told laying out organized religions' case for a God as depicted by many Western religious institutions. The same seems to hold true for most, if not all, ideologies, as well [especially political ones].
In that the branches budding off of the main trunk of the equality of outcome tree must support the main trunk, so let's take a look at a few of them. You have the "let's shut down and destroy much of human society in order to do something that there is no chance of doing [stopping a virus from spreading] branch, the "all people who white are racist" branch, the "men can be women and women can be men" while encouraging young people to explore such ideas in their early teens" branch, the "let's sexual-ize little kids in the public schools" branch, the "let's de-fund the police, blame the victims of crime and make excuses for criminal behavior" branch, and all kinds of other bizarre public policy that has resulted in a society turned on its head.
I guess the good news is that these folks played their cards and everybody was able to witness not only their agenda, but much more importantly, the results...complete disaster. The Left failed in the 20th century for good reason. Although perhaps good intentions exist[ed] for some of the people who just never thought this thing through, the leadership of these groups knew exactly what was going on...and they were going to make their power grab no matter the cost.
The bottom-line appears to be that the best form of government is what worked in the West for a long time. Minimize government, minimize corporate power, minimize corruption, and maximize the creative impulse of individuals by allowing people as much freedom as is possible. What else can you do?
