Minimalism
Those who oppose minimalism appear to be in two camps.
Firstly, those who imagine it means our going back a hundred years to an old technology and society.
Secondly, those who see it in terms of our present economic system, as a recession with unemployment.
Both of which are obviously to be avoided.
Indeed, Minimalism must be its own form of economy and society.
It is also an answer to our present environmental and sustainability problem.
From the Altruist perspective, it may be an imposition by the Authoritarian state on its servile population.
In opposition to that, globalised individualism and Autonomy is most unlikely to agree on anything but our present capitalism, and its social dangers.
While Altruism is essentially the way societies interact from the grass roots upwards. With sustainability in population and environmentally, at every level, and with no individuals left out in the cold.
The great danger we face is that genuine responsible altruist society will fail and take the easy course so as to model itself on China which may also be responsible in this context, but with no respect for the for any form of freedom.
Autonomy and Altruism are linked by the value of freedom.
Altruism and Authoritarianism are linked by duty and responsibility.
Authoritarianism and Autonomy are linked by egoism.
