the simplicity of metaphysics

Complexity has no metaphysical implications. Metaphysics is about what is at the most fundamental level and ideas like consciousness are to all appearances the opposite end of that scale. Likewise any transcendent hypothesis, the simulation hypothesis, solipcism, panpsychism, etc. Metaphysics must explain the framework within which more complex ideas make sense, and knit then all together.

I would leave that at:

"Metaphysics is about what is"
