I had registered several months ago but I am just now starting to read the forum. I am French but I have been living in the United States for more than a year, where I am pursuing a doctorate in English. I do not know the Philosophy Now magazine, but I am an amateur of philosophy in both senses of amateur: I am not a professional, and I am an enthusiast
My name Alexis is not my true name but a simple reference to Alexis de Tocqueville, the other Frenchman in America whose book I was by happenstance reading when I signed up here.
In any case I look forward to discussion here!
