I agree with your point of view.

But what would it be if someone believes in allowing people who don't think something is worth doing voluntarily to do it anyway if they change their minds because I want them to have the option available?

No problem. That would voluntary. Everybody's all owed to change his or her mind.

Socialism would be if you were mandated to do it, and in fact, your goods and assets were confiscated so that you had no choice but to have it done for you, by the government.
