First of all I think the end of times prophecies are silly. But lets temporarily accept them. 1. Supposedly the antichrist will rule the world. If this is true doesn't it make sense that he will be the leader of the most powerful country in the world? How can the leader of lets say Uruguay have any influence on world events? Clearly, Christendom (especially American Christendom) is filled with “many” antichrists. Not the least of which would be the so-called “Christians” who support Trump.

As for the question of how a Christian can support Trump, I've been asking myself this question for a long time and have no answer. I suppose we must just concede that truth is stranger than fiction. It baffles me a supposedly Christian country could elect such a man.

I wish that were true. It should be true, if people had any knowledge of history or understanding of ideology, or even a decent sense of humility. But as for why people speak of Trump as a Christian leader, I can't imagine, except that the Dems have gone so far Left that in a two-party system, they've made him the only alternative to them. So I think a lot of his real support is actually less pro-Trump than it is strongly anti-Left. And as you say, anything is really better than a step in the direction of either kind of Socialism: national or international.

Yeah, fair enough.

It's not for Christians to list his personal "sins." He has a Judge to whom he must answer -- as we all do -- and that Judge is not us. As for his public policies, they are fair game for critique, if one is inclined: they're at least in the public forum.

As for the free exercise of religion (and a fair number of other freedoms, such as speech, security of the person, private property, free enterprise, and so on) he's the only 'show in town.' The Dems have made it clear they care for none of that. Maybe he's the last port in a bad storm.

Of course, that doesn't make him "Christian" in any sense. It just makes him the only available choice in a two-party system.
