If humans are the proper saviors of Earth because we're the only beings who can sufficiently understand that problems, then only a small subset of humans are the proper saviors of Earth because only a small subset of humans can sufficiently understand the problems. If there are no proper saviors of Earth or it's not us, humanity doesn't matter.

Whether and how the anthropocene is a different topic, but i for one take it for granted that a few of us are the solution to what all of us have collectively done. And more to the point, that there's no practical alternative.
