In a much simpler, quicker, and easier sense, I found that if I am assuming or believing any thing to be already true, right, or correct, then I am not truly open.
So, if I just stop assuming or believing any thing to be true, right, and correct, then I am just open. And, it is only when one is truly open when they are able to learn and understand more and anew.
In fact when one is truly open, then they cannot not stop learning and becoming wiser.

Being open could even lead to civility in philosophy.
