Science is the name for the currently most authoritative (or generally popular) part of philosophy in the west stemming from the Greeks and especially the Athenians through the University first founded by Plato and the others (and reformed in the middle ages after the same models with the inclusion of Roman Law). This is crudely evidenced by the consideration that all scientists are doctors of philosophy holding phil-docs. To learn more, begin to study, after 25 years or so it will come clear. The general prejudice of the current form of philosophy or science (the two naming the same thing) is the exclusion of judgments about good and bad from the explicit accounts of the so-called data and the so-called theories. More precisely, it is the belief in the new idea of facts as opposed to values as is especially applied to the experimental arts. dixi
