What is morality?

Most people seem to have very little discrimination between morality and behavior. Mores and Ethos, we must remember, are merely names for how the people are (character) in some group. Thusly, they are not yet morals or ethics.
My own view is that it is helpful to abscond with one's mind from the environment of the contemporary Anglo-English university with its largely aberrant dogmatic distinction between ethics as a "science" and morals as the "doing" (thus reproducing the radical change in the meaning of theory in modern times and pasting it needlessly on the subject matter) into open discussion.
