Sub-ethics: Capitalism
This term is employed with a definition that is present day tendentious sub-ethics - politics.
The essence of capitalism must be the minimalist, ‘employment of capital’ ie material goods.
Add to that, private ownership or control.
Add to that, for monetary profit.
The sum of these concepts is what is presently termed Captitalism.
The obvious fact is that capital may be employed by society in some form, or by the state in some form.
It can be employed for the benefit of few or many, or society as a whole.
It may be employed on a non-profit making basis, as regards money.
At a stretch in small communities it can be employed without money, and according to desire or need.
It may be employed in conjunction with personal or communal enterprise, so as to produce ever more or simply ever better for some social purpose.
If we live in on a planet with limited resources especially in animal and plant form, as the biosphere, and we are to respect both humanity and the animal kingdom, then the avaricious self indulgence that can be found within Capitalism, is a folly.
