Yup. The "reality of the fallen human condition" is a disgusting idea, and half wits who blithely assert it should expect to be taken to task by decent human beings.

This invites the very important question: who are the decent people and what makes them decent people. Mark Twain wrote:

I find myself often in disagreement with the majority who seem to be considered decent people so I can openly admit why the perennial ideas at the heart of philosophy which attract me can be considered disgusting by decent people.

the question becomes how to respond to the influences of disgusting people who defy the beliefs of decent people? Mankind has tried everything including crucifixion and inviting those who support offensive ideas to drink hempock but nothing seems to work. We still end up with these Simone Weil types who never cease causing trouble for the lives of decent people.

Even though there is a minority very attracted to these disgusting ideas, how do we protect the world from them and the half wits who support them so as not to disturb the tranquility of the decent people?

What could be more clear? The decent people all want peace so are free of any opposition to forms of socialism. Those who oppose the government of the times are against peace so must be eliminated. Both Jesus' and Socrates' death were state inspired acts of justice necessary to protect decent people.

Simone Weil was too young for execution and there were no safe places to protect the decent students from the effects of Simone so banishment was the best alternative. You must remember that creating and protecting decent people is the goal of a progressive education

Everyone might think think they're decent, but -- obviously -- some (mebbe most) aren't.

I used to be a big 'eye of the beholder' kinda guy...nowadays, not so much.

If there are moral truths, natural laws (as I think there are), then there's objective 'decency' and objective 'indecency'.

The trick is figurin' out the standard, the measure.
