Hello Everyone (and an avatar question)

Hello, my name is Jenn.
I am trying to post an avatar and I have it cut to the dimensions of 61 pixels and 75 pixels, the maximum states 80 pixels for width and for height. Now I am wondering if that is 80 pixels combined total? Because the 61 and 75 is not able to be submitted.
On the edit avatar page for this website it reads "Maximum dimensions; width: 80 pixels, height: 80 pixels, file size: 6.00 KiB." So I don't see why it is not posting.
Is there a recommended website to choose an avatar from that will not have this difficulty?
