Tensions have grown in Europe over the balance between animal welfare and religious freedom.

"Religious freedom" is an oxymoron. Religious bullying is expressed as if issuing from a martyr. So those religious animal torturers are also passive aggressive.
Thank God for the tensions that serve to rescue God from dusty webs of dogma.
