Composition is a very difficult discipline that takes years of study. Creating a ditty in your head (that stays in your head) does not a composer make. And those 'really good' tunes in your head might not be 'really good' to anyone else.

I've heard it said that every riff or phrase that's been written has already been written by somebody else. Hyperbole, at the least, however it's surprising how often a phrase can be recognized in something else. Just sayin'...

Don't be so hard on yourself, ML. Just enjoy the music for what it is.
