Are illusions real?

They certainly look real (a side question would be the best illusion you've seen?)

Is that the question you intend? Concepts like, "real," are contextual. Obviously illusions exist, but they are only real if the mode of existence (physical, psychological, fictional, etc.) is specified and they actually have that mode. The concept Santa Claus exists but only as a fiction used for the entertainment of children. There really is such a concept, but its mode is a fiction. Santa Claus does not exist in a physical mode.Philosophy Explorer wrote: βSun Jul 29, 2018 11:06 pm Are illusions real?

Illusion just means things are not what they appear to be, not that they don't exist, because they exist as the concept dictates.
How does that happen, how does the uncreated create the appearance of the created?
No seer has ever seen the exact location of the claimed seer...I am the seer is taken for granted, without question...is probably the best illusion ever.

A bird is an idea..no bird has ever been seen, a bird is just a known concept by the only knowing there is, which is consciousness the great illusionist that ever was, making the invisible visible.Philosophy Explorer wrote: βMon Jul 30, 2018 8:21 pm

"A bird is an idea." Exactly so that completes my proof to you which you've just acknowledged. Thank you for your affirmation.Dontaskme wrote: βTue Jul 31, 2018 10:15 amA bird is an idea..no bird has ever been seen, a bird is just a known concept by the only knowing there is, which is consciousness the great illusionist that ever was, making the invisible visible.Philosophy Explorer wrote: βMon Jul 30, 2018 8:21 pm

In other words, no one has ever seen and idea, or a thought, or a consciousness.
Nothing but concepts all the way down...aka illusions.

YOU have never seen an illusion - YOU are the illusion and the illusion is real, apparently, as known by no one.Philosophy Explorer wrote: βSun Jul 29, 2018 11:06 pm They certainly look real (a side question would be the best illusion you've seen?)

Since you're not me, you don't know if I've seen an illusion when in fact I have seen many. Since you're conversing with me, you're acknowledging my reality.Dontaskme wrote: βTue Jul 31, 2018 11:18 amYOU have never seen an illusion - YOU are the illusion and the illusion is real, apparently, as known by no one.Philosophy Explorer wrote: βSun Jul 29, 2018 11:06 pm They certainly look real (a side question would be the best illusion you've seen?)

Yes, you are. Check your mirror.
Why would the seer (you) need a mirror to show it is you ?Philosophy Explorer wrote: βTue Jul 31, 2018 12:46 pmYes, you are. Check your mirror.
