Your own mistakes escape your attention, or else you would not have made them. With a critical analysis of what you are reading, you are more likely to identify the mistakes of others. For example, in the OP the grammatical construct “more…than” is misused as “more…or”.

This applies not only to errors of syntax (e.g., “This applies…”) but to mistakes of semantics (e.g., “Do you taste more mistakes of others than of your own?”) as well as logical mistakes (e.g., “Do you identify more mistakes by others than mistakes by others?”).

Cases of content errors, mistaken identities and mistaken information, are approached in the same manner as those above.
