Philosophy Now congratulates members on their birthday.
Conratulations
interjection
used to express joy in the success or good fortune of another
I don't get it, what does a birthday have to do with success or good fortune?

True. You don't say 'congratulations' for a birthday. More like 'commiserations'.

Some people might feel inclined to say 'congratulations' at a particularly momentous milestone birthday like the hundredth. Perhaps that's why you have been congratulated bob.
