Most notable? That's a tricky one as we have a few to choose from.

Tea for all.
Parliamentary Democracy.
One of the oldest political unions in the world.
The jet engine.
Trains.
The Underground(subway to you colonials).
The light bulb.
The telegraph.
Catseyes.
Carbon Fibre.
The World Wide Web.
The reflecting telescope.
The steam turbine.
Cement.
The spinning frame.
Disc brakes.
Oh I don't know, there's so many.

Please, jet engine? Nazi Germany stole it from you, huh? Light bulb? Thomas Edison is rolling over in his grave! I don't believe I'll waste my time going any further.
