Kant's condemnation of prostitution could be applied equally to ANY employment involving the body from sports to road digging. And if philosophy took any real effort - that too.

Nursing and working in the theatre used to be regarded as occupations to be looked down upon. Yet now they are both respectable careers. I see no reason why prostitution should not be equally well regarded in times to come.

I agree.
What working girls need is full legalisation for their protection under the law.
At the moment, prostitution is not illegal, but advertising services is, and this means that police tend to abuse them, as it is in their discretion to arrest. Many girls have to give police their services for free.
There is some wisdom in making pimping illegal, but this can make it difficult fro Brothels to thrive without management.
