Haven't we already given characters like this the term 'antihero'?

Best to ask Joseph Campbell what a hero is.

He's the Gold Standard in deciphering myth. In place of religion we should attempt to understand what the ancient myths and those of indigenous people actually mean. For that service Campbell is more important than any Pope who ever lived.
