Question: Is automatic writing a hallucination?

Post by bobevenson »

The reason I ask is that "The Ouzo Prophecy" became a spiritual document because of a single paragraph automatically written, and the entire Ouzo phenomenon has been directed by a series of hallucinations and other mystical events.

I wouldn't call it a hallucination -- rather, ones understanding of it could be delusional.

We are all capable of doing all sorts of things on various levels of consciousness. As with anything, "automatic writing" can reflect any level of clarity or delusion. Your hallucinations could have all sorts of reasons and agendas driving them. You have refused to acknowledge such a possibility -- instead, proclaiming yourself to be a prophet. And I've gotta tell you, Bob, I have seen some extraordinarily gifted/spiritual/aware/effective people (who would never proclaim themselves as such)... and it's actually rather horrendous that you try to cast yourself and your delusional ineffectiveness alongside them.

Really, you should be in the Apologies thread more than any of us.

No, I'm talking about the full consciousness of writing that is not coming from one's conscious mind.

Yes. It would explain your verbal diarrhea. Or is that textual diarrhea.

You brain-dead moron. You've based your pathetic life on a drunken hallucination. I think Ouzo is the key here. Wet Americans ought never touch the Greek ambrosia.

Let me ask you a question, do you have anything at all to say on the subject of automatic writing, or do you just prefer to keep running off at the mouth?

Whatever you want to call it. My response still applies to it, whether or not you like the implications of my response and how it applies to you.

I'm sorry, but your response mixes clarity with delusion into your usual hodgepodge of no meaning at all.

You've just described yourself, Bob... except that in your case, there's no clarity being mixed into it.

I'll have to take issue with you there, bob. Hodgepodge can be very meaningful if you know how to interpret it, considerably moreso than automatic writing. As you know, I am also a practitioner of it myself and, as I'm sure you'll have to admit, I have produced some very profound hodgepodge. I would also like to say that I'm particularly partial to Lacewings excellent hodgepodge.

Well, as the apparent king of Yorkshire pudding, your interpretation of hodgepodge should be given its due.

Could be. It seems to come on unexpectedly when intelligent men talk sweet to me.

There's nowt better than a generous helping of genuine Yorkshire hodgepodge.

No comment to make, I just wanted to look at it again.

Yeah, but I rebalanced it a bit for accuracy.
