If you want to tell dolphins about God you will have to convert Him into whistles and squeaks.
If you want to tell people about God you will have to convert him into the antichrist. He is the only one with charisma to support their fantasies so will be the only one listened to.If you want to tell dolphins about God you will have to convert Him into whistles and squeaks

There is much cause and effect involved.Dontaskme wrote:''Life is energy and without cause or effect.
That's a whole lot of talking about light and a whole lot of ignoring of the rest of the EM spectrum that we can't see (without technological help). What about subatomic particles that are much smaller than photons, and therefore cannot be illuminated?Dontaskme wrote:Light exists without cause or effect and light neither causes nor is an effect. The inherent characteristic of light is reflection and this is evident by a mirror. Every atom of a mirror is not made up of mirror, but every atom of a mirror is made up of light. Therefore, a mirror is proof that the inherent characteristic of light is reflection. Light has no attributes what so ever either, because every atom of whatever is affected by light is light too. Therefore, it is evident that every atom of whatever that exists and functions is only light. This means that the all-powerful essence in creation is light, which man longs to achieve. How could man possibly achieve light, because every atom of man is light. Man needs to ponder whether it is ever possible for light to achieve itself. Man needs to understand that whatever exists and functions is a reflection of light, which is the essence of all creations and functions.''

I think studying some science would deepen the sense of understanding you are seeking.

Life is not a matter of cause and effect. It only appears as such to the mind.Greta wrote:There is much cause and effect involved.
Excellent! That saves us the bother of thinking about it then, doesn't it? In light of this, you should stop rattling on about something you don't understand.Dontaskme wrote: There is no way to understand by the mind how life as a singular flow really happens.
I was feeling similarly, Alfie. If the idea can't be understood by the mind then it can't be expressed with words, in which case it appears that Dontaskme is just telling us to quieten our minds and meditate.Harbal wrote:Excellent! There is no escape from mental chatter since there is no one present in mental chatter to escape it.Greta wrote:
Alas, DAM, everyone has already considered meditating, tried it and didn't like it, or is currently practising. Personally, it bores me. Every now and then I do a mini-meditation, maybe a minute or two as a break from all the mental chatter. That's nice.
Doesn't matter. It's still possible to quieten you mind, to be less mentally active, slowing the rate of thoughts that you notice.Dontaskme wrote:There is no escape from mental chatter since there is no one present in mental chatter to escape it.
If you are attempting to break free from mental chatter it is because you think it is your mental chatter....the fact is, it is not.
Just try separating yourself from your next thought, alas, quite an impossible trick.
But hey ho, we are deluded to think we can do it..when in fact there is no such state as a thoughtless state. In fact there is no one in any state whatsoever.
If I'm ever in need of useless non-information you'll be the first one I call.Dontaskme wrote: There is no escape from mental chatter since there is no one present in mental chatter to escape it.

This is not about degrading or denying anything. Life is awesomely beautiful and magical beyond belief.Greta wrote:
I'd rather admit consciousness's existence and to try to better understand it than to degrade and deny it, but that's just me.
