The boy and me are working the Doctor Who levels in Lego Dimensions, so I got Daleks and Cybermen in my head...noticed the pepperpot stymied by stairs...Davros was a shitty engineer.

I've never been much of a games fan but this sounds fun. Perhaps it's time...

We've been big fans of Lego (the bricks and the xbox games) for a long time...Dimensions is pricey, but well worth the outlay...lotta love went into the work...it shows in the detail, the writing, and the sometimes maddening puzzles you gotta solve (the time travel puzzles are the worst)...the boy plays the Doctor mostly, I like the Wicked Witch (cuz, I'm sorry, nuthn' trumps tossing lime-green fireballs at orcs and Daleks and Joker goons).

I feel like I've missed out on a whole wide world of wonder. Where and how can I pick up the pieces...
Of lime-green fireballs.
Seriously, I don't have a clue...

If you want Lego (the bricks) any reputable toy store should have 'em.

For Lego video games: some toy stores (like Toys R Us) carry the games and the play systems (xbox, playstation, wii, etc)...dedicated stores, like Gamestop, offer the biggest selection of games and systems.

And, of course, you can go on-line and get everything from relevant sites (Toys R Us and Gamestop both have sites).

Finding the stuff is easy...paying for it is another matter... :)

Thanks for that. I live and learn :)

Well, the last time I was in a toystore it was Hamley's in London, and it was to get out of the rain.
My eyes glaze over and I have a mental shut down whenever I pass by any games or play systems in a supermarket. Do you think this is some kind of a phobia?
So, for the sake of simplicity and to avoid financial meltdown - which, of all those mentioned, would be 'good' for a taster session ? Not talking about the bricks.

Not a phobia, just a reluctance to get into sumthin' that seems complicated and trivial...it is trivial but not complicated.

Gamestop on-line offers previously owned systems and games...the previously owned stuff is a wallet saver and Gamestop makes an effort to sell only good condition stuff...our only experience is with the Xbox 360, so I can't advice you on that...as for titles: in the Lego stuff, look here, especially under Licensed properties...

But, jeez, that's just the beginnning...Portal2 is great, Minecraft, Call of Duty, and on and on.

Hmmm, mebbe it is complicated...

Yeah, henry, it's always easy when you know how !
Thanks for your time and patience - carry on having fun...
I think I would swear a little too much than would be good for young ears :)

HA!

Yeah, mine has learned all the choice words listenin' to me struggle to complete a puzzle, navigate an obstacle, or just overcome the lacks of my old brain.

He's workin' toward a world record of most f-bombs dropped in a single sentence.
