Looking for feedback on my new book

I just recently published an ebook on Amazon. It is published under the author name Mysterio448 and it is entitled "The Explanation of Life" (available here:
http://www.amazon.com/Explanation-Life- ... on+of+life). But as of right now, I have not received any feedback on it from anyone. I would really like to know what people think about it. I have never written a book before, so this is a new experience for me. The book addresses the "meaning/purpose of life" question; it proposes a substantive explanation for why we exist. I think you will find it interesting. Starting March 20 until March 24, the book should be available for free as a promotion. I encourage anyone to obtain a copy during this period and check it out. Or you can download and read a sample of the book. I appreciate any input, questions, comments, helpful criticism you may provide about the content.

Okay, I own a Kindle and for $0.00 it's worth the attempt.
Will get back to you.
p.s.
First thought is that "Mysterio448" as an author name will be a hindrance.

According to my Microsoft Word file, the book has 197 pages and 99,192 words. For some reason, the Amazon page says 312 pages.

Since font size is changeable in ebooks, the larger the font, the more the pages. So they are referencing number of pages by a larger font size.

So, I was just wondering. Has anyone read my book yet, or read a good portion of it? If so, what are your thoughts about it?

Well I've had a skim, you write well enough, no obvious typos or grammatical errors and it would be interesting to those who haven't already heard most of the ideas, examples and the potted history of Philosophy. As far as I have read I get the threads and how you tie them to your idea of 'entasy'. Although a little bug so far is with the idea that using the term 'force' is an explanation of anything as personally I don't think it has any more meaning than the term 'energy', other than just the physicists meaning 'we have no idea'. Still, although metaphysics is not really my cup-of-tea I think you've made a good fist of your thoughts and it's a fair read, I like the 'why not' answer to 'life' and 'existence'(even tho' I personally find the reification of 'life' dubious) and stand by my first thought that you need to change the author name as it'll put off your intended audience I think. Will get back to you when and if I read it in more detail.

I use the word "force" instead of "energy" because energy is a more empirical term and can be quantified in certain units of measure, whereas a force is a more conceptual and abstract term.
Also, I don't know how far you've gotten in the book, but I would say a couple highlights of the book are in the "Entasy in Biology" chapter where I give an explanation for the phenomenon of evolution. And in the "Weird Events" chapter, I use entasy to explain the mysterious phenomenon of synchronicity.

......No offense is meant - could you please describe the essence of the main point of the book in a sentence or two?

The book presents a theory to explain why we exist. The theory revolves around the concept that order and chaos are not actually separate forces but are intermingled to form a primal duality comparable to the duality of things like space and time, electricity and magnetism, or energy and matter. Hence, our existence emanates from, and is explained by, this primal, cosmic duality.

I like that idea and, for the most part, I overwhelmingly agree with you.
...for your own benefit, could you incorporate the ebook into a short article & troll it to some online magazines - like PhilosophyNow?
In this age of an individual's attention being THE MOST VALUABLE commodity on earth, having a 200 or 300 word article may be a way to have a wider readership?

I was considering doing the same thing. The book covers a lot of different topics, so I may have to make different posts focusing on individual chapters.

'Why' we exist as opposed to 'how' we exist suggests there is some cosmological reason. If i had more time and uncluttered space i would spend some and have a read, i would appreciate any gem to whet my curiosity.

Yes, the book does propose a cosmological reason for our existence -- a "why" instead of just a "how." You can read a pretty large sample of the book on the Amazon page. The sample should give you a pretty good idea of whether this book is for you.
